All systems are shutting down

At my desk on the 29th of August 2008, @ 3:46 pm

I did not have a very good breakfast this morning. Breakfast was just a couple of slices of toast with a glass of milk which left me rather EMPTY much before lunch time. In fact I could hear the Bacteria cheering the mice during their Kabbadi match in their mini skirts.

So, I decided to compensate for it by having a really heavy lunch which consisted of a big bowl of rice and more than 2 chapattis followed by a glass of Punjabi Lassi.

Now any self respecting Indian knows that Punjabi Sweet Lassi, which is basically yoghurt mixed with loads of sugar and some water, can help you hit the Snooze button immediately. And right now yours truly is completely struggling at this point of time to keep his eyes wide open. It is a difficult task to be pretending to work at office when all that the mind and body want to do is hit the sack & have sweet dreams.

My heart beat seems to be getting slower and slower as it does when I am about to go to sleep at night, my heavy lidded eyes are fighting to stay awake, my hearing is incoherent which is strange as I usually manage to pick up interesting bits of controversial conversation topics about hush-hush stuff and my body is getting slower and slower in it’s movements.

I cannot even stretch out loudly as I am in office and this is not acceptable behaviour. Especially not acceptable when you come in leisurely stroll into office at 10:30 am as compared to the rest of the world that hurries to work at 9:00 am.

Hence I am typing out this blog post to keep myself awake and pretending to work at the same time at least until the coffee comes to my desk so that it may rejuvenate me.

Gopal! Help Me! I need that shot of your freshly brewed filter coffee now to keep me awake, lest the management decides that sleeping at my desk during office hours is reason enough to sack me.
